Learn more about these beautiful gems of the Ozarks and plan to explore the caverns around Branson MO, one of many fun Things to Do in Branson Missouri.

Talking Rocks Cavern is located very close to our Branson Bed and Breakfast and includes more than 10 caves to explore, including the third longest cave in lower Southern Missouri, Indian Creek Caverns, or sometimes it is called Mudd Cave as it is filled with the brick like wet sediment. Here numerous speleothems, long winding networks and beautiful crystal formations combine to create a fascinating place to explore and spend the day. Adventure seekers exploring the cave are asked to wear athletic, comfortable clothing as sometimes things can get a bit dirty. The difficulty level of the cave tour depends on the expectations of the tour group, and tours are catered to the group's abilities. Children ages 6 and younger are asked to sit the tour out as cave tours are not appropriate for young children. Most tours of Talking Rocks Cavern Branson MO include 4 people, however other group sizes can be accommodated; they generally last about an hour. Come and see the spectacular array of colors, textures and crystal formations of all sizes when you visit Talking Rocks Cavern Branson MO. In addition to a variety of cave tours, Talking Rock Cavern Branson MO also has a gem mining area where children of all ages can mine for semi-precious stones and other stunning minerals; bag prices vary. Visitors routinely find amethyst, copper, garnet, apache tear gems and many other types of stones.

Located just a short drive away and over the Arkansas border is Cosmic Cavern. A natural wonder, Cosmic Cavern has been called the “Most Beautifully Decorated Cave” as the cavern's warm temperature and humidity level has created some truly spectacular cave formations, including interesting flowstone formations known as cave bacon and cave popcorn and one of the largest soda straw formations in the country. A soda straw formation is also called a tubular stalactite and they form as water, filled with calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate, slowly flows through cracks in rock. Uncommon due to their delicate nature, most soda straw formations are destroyed by humans and cave animals that knock the long dangling arms that extend out of the formation. Cosmic Cavern’s large soda straw formation, known as Silent Splendor, measures over nine feet long! Visit Cosmic Cavern and explore the hidden underground of the Ozarks. Not only will you have the chance to see all of the beautiful formations, but you can also visit the cavern’s two bottomless pools where blind, almost colorless trout swim about.
